When Phoenix Glass replaces a windshield,
we do our best to use the same adhesive the manufacturer did when they built the vehicle and along with industry approved installation procedures.

Betaseal/Essex adhesives are used to install windshields on nearly every domestic vehicle and two thirds of all vehicles manufactured worldwide to help restore a vehicle to its original strength and retain a windshield during a crash.

Not all adhesives have the strength required to allow the vehicle safety systems to perform correctly.

To assure that the windshield is replaced properly it's absolutely imperative that the correct adhesives as well as adhesive primers are used.

>  Rear View Mirrors

  • My car has a rear view mirror that looks very complicated, Is it going to be an issue when I have Phoenix Glass replaces my windshield?

2005 Ford rear view mirror

Not a problem.  Rear view mirrors of today look like something to be afraid of but in reality the majority of them are just business as usual for the technicians at Phoenix Glass.

Example of 20 different rear view mirror mounting brackets

99% of the windshields of today come from the factory with the rear view mirror mounting bracket already mounted on the windshield. The links below will take you to the I-CAR web site which has more information.

Moisture Sensing Windshield Wipers

There are a few out there that can be rather difficult to transfer over to the new windshield such as Infinity, Lexus and a few other makes.  Unfortunately for that simple reason it puts the vehicle into the difficult installations category in which we would rather not perform the installation in the field.

These types of rear view mirrors use a horse shoe shaped spring that maintains an equal pressure on each of the two ball bearings to retain the mirror to the mounting bracket.  It's not at all uncommon for a technician to have difficulty with these type of units in that it will pop apart and the small ball bearings exit the mirror in an unsafe, unruly, flying formation.  Imagine trying to find something smaller than a BB in a parking lot or worse yet a gravel parking lot.

  • My Rear View Mirror fell off my windshield, Can Phoenix Glass reattach it for me?

No problem, and we can do it while you wait.  You'll also receive a life time warranty for the work.  In the unlikely event of it falling off again we'll put it back on for free for as long as you own the vehicle.
