This large company probably has a fleet of vehicles from 50 to 75 or more trucks, vans, and cars on the highway at all times and it would be hard to say just how many of them are in this shape thanks to the shoddy work of hap hazard auto glass technicians.

A Toyota Land Cruiser prior replacement windshield installation was fubared from start to finish. When the rehab of this unbelievably horrific windshield installation was over it cost the customer $520.00 to bring this in excess of $50,000 vehicle back to as close as we could get it to a safe factory installation. It had to have all new top and side moldings. The top molding had the bottom cut off it and was reused hacker style by bedding it in to a thick bead of urethane that was applied across the top of the windshield. Both of the windshield side moldings were goober-ed to the windshield piller post all the way back to the luggage rack with urethane. As an added upgrade the person who did the windshield installation omitted the 1/8 inch rivets that are supposed to hold the molding in place and used 1/4 x 20 lag screws, you had to see it all to believe it. The windshield was installed about 3/8 of an inch to low and there were several leaks in various places around the windshield with the largest one being about 7 inches wide just below the VIN plate. On the passenger you can see another 3 inch gapping hole where someone made a hap hazard attempt at resealing it. The satellite radio antenna wire was completely embedded in the urethane running up the passengers piller post and could not be saved in the repair process. If all that wasn’t enough we also had to perform rust repair the pinchweld surfaces where they had been scratched and no primers we used. Its very hard to believe that someone could do so many wrong things to a vehicle but unfortunately its something we see on a daily basis.
